Let’s start with a relatable scenario…
We all understand the reluctance to visit the dentist despite knowing it’s necessary. Similarly, discussing your financial portfolio with an adviser can feel daunting.
However, it should be an enlightening and constructive experience, not unlike sharing your dreams and aspirations.
Honestly, it can and should be rewarding.

We advocate that Liberty’s financial advisers actively listen and then, more importantly, thoroughly understand your personal situation.
Everyone dreams about wanting financial freedom and realising unfulfilled dreams, either for themselves or their loved ones. It is such a different and uplifting experience when one can share these wishes and aspirations with a professional.

LET’S WORK TOGETHER
What a Liberty financial adviser could secure for you is a thorough, professional financial plan that aligns with your dreams as well as your current reality. It is essential this plan is constantly monitored, measured, and adapted to your personal life circumstances.
- We take a holistic approach to life’s challenges, making it easy for you to build a complete picture and a workable plan.
- Together, we co-create a roadmap that integrates your assets, as part of a financial plan for your future.
- It is through the sharing of your dreams, aspirations and thoughts with a trusted financial adviser that together you co-create a rewarding, personalised and fulfilling experience.
- It is after all, what you deserve.
In an ever-increasingly complex world of investing and financial planning, it is important to work with and trust a financial adviser who you know is qualified, knowledgeable, trustworthy and represents a respected company.
Remember this: Peace of mind is priceless...
A professionally qualified, registered financial adviser is your ticket to enjoying peace of mind in your financial affairs.
Just as business leaders rely on specialists to navigate the corporate world, having a dedicated financial adviser is crucial for individuals when financial questions arise.
This adviser acts as your financial specialist, providing answers or bringing in trusted partners as needed. Moreover, a great financial adviser should also serve as a confidante, understanding your aspirations and concerns, thus becoming a trusted advocate.
Some key aspects to consider…
- Professional Qualifications: Ensure your financial adviser is professionally qualified and registered.
- Specialist Support: Seek out a specialist who can provide tailored advice for your financial situation.
- Confidante Relationship: Look for an adviser who not only offers financial expertise but also serves as a trusted confidante.
- Listening Skills: A good financial adviser should prioritise active listening to understand your needs and concerns.
- Financial Planning: Work with your adviser to create a comprehensive financial plan tailored to your goals.
Additionally, financial planning is essential for achieving your life goals. No matter the size of your financial goals, only a detailed financial plan can make them a reality.
Some unquestionable truths we all share…
- Everyone wants to be debt-free.
- Everyone wants to own a home.
- Education is a gift of a lifetime for anyone, not only a child.
- Creating shared memories on a wonderful holiday is a privilege reserved for a few.
- Having cash one can access in challenging times is also priceless.
- Knowing medical costs are contained also helps one sleep better at night.
- Knowing your taxes are in order is so comforting.
- Just having a pot of savings is also very reassuring.
- And then, having the privilege of choice when one decides to retire is invaluable.

STEP 01 – Establishing and defining the professional relationship (the first appointment)
The first meeting with an adviser is always without charge or obligation as it is important to confirm that the client / planner relationship is appropriate for both parties. In this meeting we will provide you with information about the Liberty financial advisers, their competencies and services offered as well as establishing an understanding of your needs and requirements in order to assist you.
This first meeting is also about establishing a good working relationship and partnership between the Liberty advisers and defining the scope of engagement by:
- explaining the process to be followed
- identifying your needs and level of advice required
- being clear about what your and our responsibilities are and how decisions will be made
- giving you clear service package options
- discussing payment for services
- mapping out the process and obtaining your consent to proceed
STEP 02 – Gathering information (Including your goals, timeframe and attitude to risk)
The Liberty advisers will ask you to provide us with personal details, information pertaining to your current financial situation, commitments and short to long-term financial goals.
Your personal and financial goals will be defined and confirmed with you, and a timeframe for results will be set. Your objectives, concerns and aspirations will be discussed, as well as your attitude and appetite for investment and other risks.
In planning your financial future, we believe that all of these factors are critical to understanding your personal approach to financial planning and risk taking.
STEP 03 – Analysing and evaluating your financial status
This step involves analysing the information collected from you and assessing where you currently stand in relation to your goals. Depending on what services you require, this might incorporate analysis of the following:
• your balance sheet (assets, liabilities and cash flow)
• current risk (assurance) portfolio
• reviewing discretionary and compulsory retirement investments
• reviewing last will and testament and estate planning structures in place
STEP 04 – Developing and presenting the financing recommendations
Once your personal and financial information has been analysed your planner will develop a financial plan. This details the recommendations and strategies for achieving your goals and objectives. It will look at your existing financial arrangements and lay out a plan for the future, and will cover your assets, investments, liabilities and income. It will also, importantly, look at contingency planning and help you plan for any disasters which may arise. Your financial plan can also include a will and other estate planning structures, along with any other specific personal needs that you may have.
This plan will be presented to you, and the recommendations will be discussed and reviewed to ensure they are understood, along with any concerns that you, as the client, may have.
The Financial Plan will enable a review of all aspects of your financial portfolio:
• your balance sheet (lifestyle and investment assets and liabilities)
• your risk (assurance) portfolio
STEP 05 – Implementing the financial planning recommendations
This stage details the implementation process (action plan) and calls for agreement from you, the client. Your planner / adviser will record any agreed implementation plan and attach all the necessary documentation in support of the plan.
Other professional expertise will be brought in if required.
STEP 06 – Monitoring the financial planning recommendations
The final stage is about regularly reviewing the plan to make sure everything works for you. Your planner will look at any change in circumstances and, if necessary, change the plan to incorporate them.
Reviews are usually done annually but can be done more often if needed. This review is also a chance for you to ask any specific questions that may have come up or to discuss any concerns you may have. This proactive review is about making sure your plan really works for you, every step of the way.
